Blackout blinds in both bedrooms make daytime sleep genuinely possible after a night shift. The building is quiet and residential, and self check-in means arriving at 2am after a shift, or leaving before dawn for an early theatre list, never requires coordinating with anyone.

A genuine walk to work
UNSW Kensington is two minutes away on foot. Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children's Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women are around eight minutes, whether walking, driving or catching the frequent buses along Anzac Parade. Free allocated parking on site is rare this close to a major hospital and university precinct, and light rail from directly across the street reaches Central and the CBD in about 20 minutes for conferences, meetings or a day in the city.

Set up to work, not just sleep
A dedicated desk and fast Wi-Fi handle marking, remote teaching, grant writing or study between shifts. The full kitchen and in-unit washer and dryer mean real meals and clean scrubs without hunting for a laundromat, and the apartment sleeps up to six, so a partner, children, or a visiting colleague can come too.
